Lancia will launch three electric vehicles: Ypsilon in 2024, Gamma in 2026 and Delta in 2028

Lancia already presented its roadmap several months ago. She foresees the arrival of three electric vehicles in its range, which will be based on the design of the Lancia Pu+Ra Concept. The first to arrive will be the Ypsilon, which will be launched in 2024. It will be followed by the Gamma in 2026. Finally, the Delta will complete the first generation of electric vehicles from the Italian brand. But what will these cars look like?

Although the Lancia Ypsilon is very close to being revealed, we don’t know much about it yet, other than that it will share electric powertrains with the Peugeot e-208 and Opel Corsa-e, that its design will be based on the Concept cited above and that its interior will be reminiscent of Italian furniture. But if little is known about this future electric utility, even less is known about its subsequent launches. Nevertheless, Luca Napolitano himself, the company’s CEO, gave some first clues about what we can expect from the Gamma.

The Gamma will be built in Italy

In 2026, the Gamma will appear, a vehicle that until now we only knew as a 100% electric vehicle, which will be the flagship of the company and which will arrive in the form of a crossover.

However, Napolitano revealed new details: “Lancia’s flagship will be a beautiful and elegant Italian car, beautiful on the outside and beautiful on the inside, where you will really feel like you are in the living room from an Italian house. The STLA Medium platform will be perfect for Lancia, as it will guarantee high levels of comfort, offering both a front-wheel drive and an all-wheel drive version.

It will be built at the Stellantis factory in Melfi, Italy, and will have a length similar to that of a BMW 4 Series, or approximately 4.7 meters.

Thanks to the announcement of this platform it is clear that the Lancia Gamma will have a range of around 700 kilometers per charge, since it is the same platform that is already used by the Peugeot E- 3008. Lancia expects 50% of sales to come from Italian customers, and the remaining 50% from other European Union countries.

Contrary to what many expect, neither the company nor the CEO of the brand have given explicit details about the future Lancia Delta, which will arrive in 2028. They contented themselves with the following statement: “She’ll be back and she’ll be a real Delta. An exciting car, a manifesto of progress and technology and, obviously, it will be fully electric.”
