Mayor Francine Caucheteux addressed the current situation, highlighting the interconnection of local actions with global, European and national economic movements. She expressed her gratitude to municipal staff, technical agents, extracurricular staff and the municipal police, highlighting their essential contribution to the community. During the greeting ceremony, she also announced plans for the coming year, emphasizing energy savings with the replacement of boilers in public buildings and the continuation of insulation.

The high school is planning the launch of an architect competition by the Region, and the Jean Lemaire de Belges college will host a class with a musical schedule at the start of the sixth form. The media library project, the development of play areas at the Atrium and the transformation of the former Lidl are also on the program, with a diagnosis pending. A construction program on rue de la Gare is envisaged, as is consideration of a greenway along the railway line from Bettrechies to Douzies, in collaboration with the mayors of the municipalities concerned and the SNCF. The year 2024 therefore promises to be rich in initiatives for the local community.
