The world of aeronautics is about to change forever. Spain is silently witnessing this progress in the form of new aircraft, ranging from supersonic planes such as Boom Supersonic’s XB-1 to X-59-type aircraft, including NASA’s “Concorde”. JetZero is one of the companies betting on these advances, with giant-winged aircraft, potentially powered by hydrogen.
In April of this year, JetZero obtained approval from the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to make what would be the first flight using a scaled-down aircraft of this type. The Pathfinder aircraft, still under development, received an airworthiness certificate from the FAA to make this flight.
Today, JetZero has partnered with easyJet, the British low-cost airline to develop hydrogen-powered aircraft for commercial flights. The goal of the partnership is to explore the idea of using hydrogen as fuel in an aircraft with a blended wing fuselage, or “blended wing” as the company calls it. https://srqbacklot.com/auto-moto/tesla-annonce-sa-nouvelle-voiture-electrique-pour-tous-les-budgets-elle-arrivea-en-2025/595973/

It all starts with the Pathfinder, JetZero’s main prototype aircraft. The aircraft uses an aircraft format that combines the flying wing or integrated fuselage (similar to that used by military aircraft such as the B-2 bomber)
with the traditional biplane protruding from a central fuselage. The flat fuselage promises, according to
New Atlas, to reduce the dedicated wing areathe aircraft needs to climb and hover. This approach strengthens the design of the aircraft, which, at least on paper, does not necessarily need a rear wing, as is often the case in current aircraft designs. An easyJet aircraft
smaller engines. As a result, fuel consumption and emissions are significantly reduced. According to Mr. Page, the blended wing design “is 50% more efficient. It uses half as much fuel and produces half as much carbon dioxide as a tube-wing aircraft, frankly, even with the same engines.” The fact that the fuselage opens the interior space to the wings allows

Additionally, JetZero points out that this aircraft design “significantly” improves the aerodynamic efficiency of the aircraft compared to traditional tube and wing designs. “This is due in part to its uniquely aerodynamic body profile and thinner wing design,” the company explains.
The partnership between the two companies aims precisely to develop future combined-wing aircraft
who take advantage of this idea . Not only can they reduce fuel consumption and emissions by 50%, but they “have the potential to run on hydrogen,” the release explains. The JetZero team
its first manned flight will be in service by 2030. A daunting task, given the conservatism of design standards imposed on the aviation industry over the years.
