A few weeks after introducing rate limits for Claude and the widely-used Claude Code, Anthropic is set to provide upgrades for Claude Enterprise and Teams customers. These upgrades will enable users to access increased usage and Claude Code under a single subscription. Additionally, the enhancements will feature expanded admin controls and a new Compliance API, granting enterprises improved access to usage data and customer content for enhanced observability, auditing, and governance.
According to Anthropic, with the integration of Claude and Claude Code into one subscription, users can transition smoothly between ideation and implementation, while administrators gain the visibility and controls necessary to scale Claude throughout their organization. Claude Code is now available for Team and Enterprise plans, with flexible pricing that allows organizations to mix standard and premium Claude Code seats based on their needs.

The premium seats, which differ from the standard seats typically allocated to most users, can be utilized with both Claude and Claude Code. Admins have the capability to assign premium seats to individuals based on their roles within the organization.

In response to user inquiries about the impact of the new Claude Code upgrades on API rate limits and custom integrations, Anthropic clarified that existing five-hour usage limits for premium seats on Enterprise and Team plans will remain unchanged, similar to those for Max 5x users. The newly introduced Claude Code bundle offers both standard and premium seats the option for increased usage, alongside robust seat management controls for administrators.
Enterprise Features and Compliance
Anthropic highlighted that the upgrades are designed to provide additional controls and enterprise-ready features. While individual Max plans cater to personal use, the Enterprise bundle offers the security, compliance, analytics, and management capabilities essential for large organizations. The company acknowledged that enterprise customers often face a dilemma between speed and governance, and the introduction of admin controls and compliance features aims to resolve this tradeoff, facilitating seamless transitions between planning in Claude and building in the terminal using Claude Code.
Enterprise IT administrators will have the ability to manage seats, including purchasing and allocating them, setting spending controls, and accessing Claude Code analytics. They will also be able to establish tool permissions, policy settings, and MCP configurations. With flexible pricing based on the number of required premium or standard seats, Anthropic aims to accommodate the varying needs of enterprises.
The Compliance API will enable companies, especially those in regulated industries, to access usage data and customer content on Claude for monitoring and policy enforcement. This API allows organizations to integrate Claude data into their compliance and orchestration dashboards.
