Tito must unexpectedly travel from his native Panama to San Jose to care for his father Cesar, who has suffered a cardiac incident. The pair has a strained relationship; Cesar was an absentee father and they barely know each other. Tito wants to go back to Panama as soon as possible to participate in a bowling tournament while Cesar needs a job and wants to return to his true passion: training boxers. LA RUTA DE LA LUNA follows father and son as they drive from Costa Rica to Panama and details the discoveries they make along the way.
