HOMEFRONT HEROINES: THE WAVES OF WWII

HOMEFRONT HEROINES: THE WAVES OF WORLD WAR II introduces audiences to a group of quirky, independent and determined women who went where no women had gone before: into the Navy as WAVES, or Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service. The stories of these courageous and heroic women have rarely been heard before, and director Kathleen Ryan handles their stories with a cinematic eye that honors their service while simultaneously allowing their true character to shine through. Six years in the making, this documentary reveals a hidden history about a generation who changed the course of American life.
