The first official adaptation of the work of David Sedaris, Kyle Patrick Alvarez’s C.O.G. is the story of David (Jonathan Groff), a cocky, urbane Yale graduate who travels by bus to Oregon to work on a rural apple farm. But life on the farm is not what David expected, forcing him to reconcile with the foreign world of physical labor. From the outset, the conflict between David’s world view and the reality of the farm prove a rich source of comedy and pathos and, in the spirit of Sedaris’ original essay, fertile ground for growth and self-understanding.
