The call, which will remain open until March 4, 2025, will support the construction of onshore photovoltaic projects in Finland and onshore wind projects in Estonia. Projects are expected to be constructed and commissioned within two to three years from the call closing date. The call for tenders will be managed by the European Executive Agency for Climate, Infrastructure and Environment (CINEA).
The EU’s first cross-border solar tender was launched in April 2023, and earlier this year CINEA approved grants for seven solar projects in Finland with a combined capacity of 212.99 MW.

The Commission created RENEWFM in 2020 to encourage greater use of renewable energy in the EU. Member States can either be contributing countries, by making direct payments to the program, or host countries, by authorizing the development of facilities on their territory. Contributing countries and host countries share the statistical benefits of the renewable energy produced.
Luxembourg is making a voluntary payment of 52.4 million euros for the second call for funds, after investing 40 million euros in the first call.
CINEA announces that it will organize an information day during the summer to explain the conditions of the call, the award criteria and the ranking of offers, as well as the rules for payment of subsidies.
