“Stealth Black V8 Supercar Makeover: Erebus Racing Unveils Jimmy Klimenko’s Dream-Spec Murdered-Out NASCAR-Style Livery”

Erebus Motorsport has unveiled a striking all-black livery for Cooper Murray’s car at Ipswich. The team shared the design on social media, describing it as team owner Betty Klimenko’s “dream livery – murdered out, all black.” The term “murdered out” refers to vehicles that have been completely transformed with a black finish. Klimenko humorously mentioned during the announcement of Erebus Motorsport’s Supercars entry in 2012 that she envisioned her cars in plain black. The team derives its name from the Greek God of Darkness, and the first Mercedes-AMG E63 Supercar was initially tested in matte black before adopting sponsor colors for the 2013 season.

This year, Erebus is without a full-time sponsor for its #99 car and has featured various brands throughout the season. The livery for Queensland Raceway prominently showcases support for Rural Aid Australia, an organization dedicated to assisting rural communities with resources like water, hay, and counseling. Klimenko has been a strong supporter of this initiative, having made a $50,000 donation during last year’s Bathurst 1000 weekend. The two-time Bathurst-winning team owner was recognized in 2022 with an Order of Australia for her significant contributions to motorsport and charitable organizations.
