IndyCar Champion Scott Dixon Secures 24th Season with Chip Ganassi Racing: 6-Time Title Winner Extends Legacy Through 2025

Meyer Shank Racing driver Marcus Armstrong is gearing up for an exciting 2026 IndyCar season, showcasing remarkable growth and determination.

Armstrong’s Journey in IndyCar

The 2026 season will mark Armstrong’s fourth year in IndyCar racing and his second with Meyer Shank Racing (MSR). He made his debut in 2023, participating in a road course and street circuit program in the #11 car with Chip Ganassi Racing, where he earned Rookie of the Year honors. Armstrong transitioned to a full-time role in 2024, achieving his first podium finish on the streets of Detroit.

In 2025, Chip Ganassi Racing scaled down to three cars, leading to Armstrong being loaned to Meyer Shank Racing. With MSR, he has experienced his most successful season to date, currently sitting ninth in the drivers’ championship with two races remaining. So far, Armstrong has secured one podium finish and ten top-10 finishes out of 15 races.

Looking Ahead

“I’m very pleased and grateful to be back with Meyer Shank Racing and my crew for 2026,” said Armstrong. “The professionalism and attention to detail is a benchmark throughout the field, and we have certainly improved with time together, which has been great. We’ll look to build on our momentum and work hard to climb the points standings.”

With Meyer Shank Racing, Armstrong also achieved his best qualifying performance, finishing third in Toronto.

Team’s Excitement

“We’re thrilled to have Marcus back for 2026,” said Mike Shank, co-owner of Meyer Shank Racing. “He’s really grown a lot this season, and we’re seeing that in his results as the season has progressed. His performance this year has demonstrated that he has all the tools to compete at the front. We’re excited to continue building on this progress together.”

The IndyCar Series will continue at the Milwaukee Mile on Monday, August 25 (AEST).
