The recent confirmation of Nash Morris alongside Richie Stanaway at PremiAir Racing has finalized the driver combinations for the upcoming season, with only a few changes to the lineup.
Overview of the Endurance Cup Driver Line-ups
The Endurance Cup is set to feature a competitive 27-car grid, including wildcards from Triple Eight, Tickford Racing, and Matt Stone Racing, joining the regular participants. Out of the previous year’s line-ups, only eight remain unchanged, notably the Bathurst-winning duo of Brodie Kostecki and Todd Hazelwood, who have transitioned from Erebus to Dick Johnson Racing.
Team Changes and Continuity
Triple Eight stands out as the only team maintaining a completely unchanged lineup, with Scott Pye once again teaming up with reigning champion Will Brown. Jamie Whincup will rejoin points leader Broc Feeney for the upcoming season. Other returning combinations include Matt Payne with Garth Tander, Andre Heimgartner with Declan Fraser, Macauley Jones with Jordan Boys, James Golding with David Russell, and James Courtney with Jack Perkins.
Notable Changes in the Line-up
Significant changes are highlighted by Mark Winterbottom’s return to Tickford Racing, where he will partner Cam Waters. This transition has led to James Moffat stepping in to replace Tyler Everingham in Thomas Randle’s entry. Tim Slade, another full-time driver moving to co-driver duties, will pair with Nick Percat at a revitalized Matt Stone Racing, which has also added Cam McLeod for Cameron Hill’s entry.
Youth Movement and New Partnerships
A shift towards younger talent has prompted a reshuffle at Walkinshaw Andretti United, where Jayden Ojeda has been recruited to partner Ryan Wood, while Fabian Coulthard has moved to Chaz Mostert’s entry. Lee Holdsworth, a former teammate of Mostert, has found a new position alongside David Reynolds at Team 18. Meanwhile, Porsche champion Harri Jones will partner with Anton De Pasquale.
Co-Driver Changes and Rookie Participants
Team 18’s 2024 co-drivers, Warren Luff and Michael Caruso, are among those who will not be competing, ending their impressive Great Race start tallies at 24 and 19, respectively. Veteran Dean Fiore, with 16 Bathurst starts, is also out as part of a reshuffle at Brad Jones Racing, which sees the return of Jack Smith and Brad Vaughan taking over from Jaylyn Robotham.
Erebus has opted for rookies Jarrod Hughes and Jobe Stewart following the poaching of Hazelwood and Ojeda by rival teams. The wildcards from Triple Eight and Tickford Racing, featuring Zach Bates and Rylan Gray along with Lochie Dalton, increase the Bathurst 1000 rookie count to seven. Zak Best (BRT) returns after missing last year’s race, while Aaron Seton is back on the grid for the first time since 2022, thanks to MSR’s wildcard entry.
