Lando Norris dominated his second session of the day in the Netherlands, showcasing impressive performance amidst a chaotic environment.
Session Highlights
Lando Norris led a tumultuous Dutch GP FP2, clocking a time of 1:09.890, just 0.087 seconds ahead of Fernando Alonso, with Oscar Piastri closely trailing in third. The session faced interruptions due to two red flags, one caused by Lance Stroll’s crash at Turn 3 and another when Alex Albon stranded his Williams at Turn 1. Isack Hadjar experienced a power issue that halted his car on track, resulting in a virtual safety car deployment, while Lewis Hamilton spun out at Turn 9. In a tense moment, Piastri narrowly avoided a collision with George Russell in the pit lane, leading to a stewards’ investigation. Russell managed to recover and finished fourth, ahead of Max Verstappen and Hamilton.
Ferrari demonstrated signs of improvement, with Charles Leclerc finishing eighth, while Yuki Tsunoda secured seventh place. Franco Colapinto achieved a notable top-ten finish for Alpine, coming in ninth, just ahead of Nico Hulkenberg.
FP3 is scheduled to commence at 11:30 a.m. Local time on Saturday (7:30 p.m. AEST).
