Our trusted team of A-list journalists will provide you with everything you need to know about this year’s Sarasota Film Fest. Read about our team of active writers below.
Jacob Ogles is the senior editor for SRQ Media Group. In the past, he has ridden in an SUV with Bill Paxton, followed Geena Davis from students talks to film screenings, and had one red carpet argument with Stanley Tucci. While covering business in Southwest Florida, he has seen the burgeoning Sarasota film industry grow tremendously and has written about the matter regularly in the pages of SRQ Magazine and other publications within the SRQ family.
Evan Sigmund is the art manager and senior photographer for SRQ Media Group. In 2012, he helped revolutionize our visual coverage of the film festival with scores of photos from parties, red carpets and our Avenue of the Stars events.
Our newest Staff Writer, Phil Lederer covers the arts and culture beat for SRQ’s portfolio of publications as well as reporting features and departments in both SRQ DAILY and SRQ Magazine. Born in Texas but raised in Louisville, Kentucky, he graduated from Centre College with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy. From there, Phil earned a master’s from Morehead State University: one in public administration with a focus in political philosophy and the other in government. An avid reader, Phil enjoys and is inspired by the works of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, Cormac McCarthy and James Ellroy.
SRQ Media’s Assistant Editor and Production Coordinator Shane Donglasan works closely with the production team to coordinate all aspects of pre production to ensure the high-quality images are incorporated into our publications and digital channels. A New College alumni, Shane also volunteers at local community radio station, WSLR 96.5. Shane loves animals and has a “Baggle”, which of course is half basset hound, half beagle, named Igby.
