No Florida film incentives this year

With a budget working its way through conference talks between the Florida House and Senate today, it appears that funding for state incentives to the film industry will not be included in this year’s budget. While the state House at one point passed a budget with $200 million worth of incentives, the Senate has debated a $50 million proposal sponsored by state Sen. Nancy Detert, R-Venice, but is not including it in its budget. The House signaled through media today that it would not fight for the incentives during conference talks.
