The Enduring Beauty Of Memory Premiers At Manatee Performing Arts Center

In conjunction with the Sarasota Film Festival and Manatee Educational Television, The Enduring Beauty of Memory, a new documentary from local filmmaking trio Durand Adams, Charles Clapsaddle and Charles E. Williams, celebrated its world premier last night at the Manatee Performing Arts Center.

Dividing time between sessions with leading Alzheimer’s expert Dr. Michael Mullan of the Roskamp Institute and candid conversations with local residents, the film explores the concept of memory and the reality of Alzheimer’s and memory loss. While Mullan supplies the science behind our understanding of the phenomenon, it is the stories of those affected which reveal the human impact and, at times, touch upon the philosophical implications of losing that which essentially makes us us.

The film, which was shot entirely in Manatee and Sarasota County with a cast and crew of all local talent, will screen twice at the Sarasota Film Festival on the evenings of April 6 and 13.
