Frances Ha star and Sting offspring Mickey Sumner will attend the Sarasota Film Festival, organizers announced today. Read about Sumner other other newly announced stars in attendance past the jump. Sumner may be best known for her Broadway stint in Craig Lewis’ The Lying Lesson and for a recurring role on The Borgias, as well as for playing Lucy Foster in Missed Connections. She will be in town, of course, with Frances Ha, the Closing Night Film, where she plays Hannah.
She will also be awarded the Breakthrough Performer Award by the festival, which means she will be at the Tribute Luncheon on April 12. Frances Ha plays at the Sarasota Opera House on April 13.
The festival also announced that David Call (Gossip Girl, Tiny Furniture) would attend. He actually is connected to three separate films in the festival line-up: Dead Man’s Burden, Nor’easter and short film Mobile Homes.
WWE superstar Brodus Clay also will attend. He comes with horror film No One Lives, a film that doesn’t even both to put “spoiler alert” in the marquis. This actually will be the second year in a row when the WWE has star presence at the festival, as Kelly Kelly and Rey Mysterio both came last year to a red carpet for The Day.
