Jeanne Corcoran, director for Sarasota County’s Film and Entertainment Office, settled in at Cinema Tropicale and raved to SRQ Mag Backlot about the number of local films getting screened at the Festival this year.
“The festival is very picky about the movies they choose to include,” she notes, “and this is sign of a significant rise in the quality of films being produced here. I am not just excited about the quantity, but the quality.”
Her favorite so far? The Beautiful Noise. The film was produced entirely within Sarasota and South Florida.
She was also excited about the future of film in Sarasota, and is hopeful some projects in the works locally will raise the stature of the local industry a good bit higher in the near future. We can’t wait to hear more.
